I had my first brush with development at a young age. As a child, I spent my free time playing around with with the level editors in Age of Empires and programming in Lego Mindstorms. I did not realize it at the time, but I was hooked.
I took my first computer science class in high school and began learning java. However, I quickly realized that development is more than just writing code. In fact, I had already done some development without even realizing it... and I loved it.
After high school, I began to recognize that the types of problems involved with software development aligned closely with my passions. This led me to study computer engineering at the University of Delaware. After graduation, I was hired as an Associate Applications Engineer at Silicon Labs. This role was a great first experience in the professional world, but I knew I wanted to take on even more development.
